Many thanks to all those that came along last Thursday to the first Lincoln Creative’s social at the Victoria pub. If my maths are correct we had 30 models, photographers and MUAs from both the Lincoln area and from further afield. The long distance award has to go to Bryan Allman who travelled all the way from Surrey, he did mange to fit a couple of shoots in while he was up here.

I hope to arrange another one for some time in January and have started a Facebook group to try and centralise all the information.

  • Are you new to this model photography lark?
  • Do you want to learn how to use studio lighting?
  • Do you want some tips on how to direct models with different skill levels?
  • Do you want to know how to work with MUAs and stylists?
  • Do you think rim lighting is mood lighting for the toilet?

Well if you don’t know your beauty dish from your snoot and you get in a bit of a dither when you are trying to get a model to pose this may just be the course for you.

East Barkwith is the next village to us here in the Lincolnshire Wolds and I was delighted when they asked my to some pictures at their charity fashion show. It was the first time they had done anything like it and it went brilliantly. The clothes were supplied by  “Simply Nothing to Wear” of the Bailgate, Lincoln and the catwalk was built by the ever resourceful Chris Wilson.

I thought it would be a good idea to create a DVD slide-show for the ladies to remember the evening by, the new version of Proshow Producer 4.5 really does make the job so easy with it’s wizard. With the earlier version I would have spent ages putting this together, I used version 4 for my 2010 wedding show reel which is featured on the Proshow website.

This is the low resolution version but a full HD one is available if you click through to YouTube.
